FAQ: Find Answers to Commonly Asked Questions

Q. What types of patients does RSVP accept?

We gladly accept any patients in our service area that require durable medical equipment and supplies pending insurance coverage.

Q. What insurances do you accept?

We are providers for Medicare, Medicaid, Managed Care Plans and Commercial Insurances. If we do not have a contract with your insurance, we will try to work with your plan to provide equipment and supplies as an out of network provider.

Q. What equipment and supplies do you have?

We provide most types of equipment and supplies needed for home use, yet we specialize in respiratory and enteral products.

Q. Am I able to speak to someone after hours?

A Respiratory Therapist is available after hours for our patients to handle any non-emergent equipment malfunction. For medical emergencies, call 911.

Q. What are your normal business hours?

We are open Monday through Friday 8:30am- 5:00 pm. We close for lunch from 12:00-12:30pm. Our office is closed on major holidays.

Q. Do I pick up supplies or are they delivered?

We deliver supplies monthly, but you are free to pick up your supplies at our office. However, please call at least 2 hours in advance so we can have your items ready for you.

Q. Do I need to call the doctor or does RSVP do this for me?

RSVP works with our patients in contacting physicians to resolve any issues or needs that arise servicing your child.

Q. What states do you service? What is your service area?

We service portions of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana centered around the Cincinnati area. Please refer to our map for specifics. Certain specialty items can be shipped anywhere.

Q. Do you offer other services in addition to medical equipment?

We offer home medical equipment and supplies. We do not provide nursing, infusion therapy or pharmacy items.

Q. What if I have a problem with my equipment when you are closed?

A Respiratory Therapist can be reached to troubleshoot situations for non-emergent issues. For medical emergencies, call 911.

Q. How do I order supplies?

The Respiratory Therapists will instruct you and your family on the process of ordering monthly supplies. You will be given a customized supply sheet for your child upon set up. Supplies are ordered by calling our Customer Service Representatives during normal business hours 2-3 days prior to needing them.

Q. Is there an age limit for the patients you take?

There is no age limit to be an RSVP patient. Once a patient, always a patient. Your child will never age-out. We will be there for your family to provide equipment and supplies for as long as needed. If you are new to us because of insurance change, relocation or switching from another provider, we are happy to help.

Q. How do we get equipment and supplies when we are discharged from the hospital?

Prior to the patient’s discharge, our Respiratory Therapists will work with the caregivers, nurses, and physicians to ensure everyone is prepared and has the right information. Home care follow-ups begin at the patient’s discharge. Through scheduled home visits and supply deliveries, we will perform equipment checks, evaluate the patient’s wellness, and make sure each person involved in the child's care understands how to use the equipment and has adequate supplies.

Q. Will I always have the same Respiratory Therapist?

To provide continuity of care, we attempt to have you deal with the same Respiratory Therapist as much as possible. Please keep in mind, you may deal with other staff after hours or when your Respiratory Therapist is on vacation or off work for other reasons.
